YEAH for me!

So I figured Aspen finally has the patients for some more involved hair styles. So I decided to try my hand at French Braids. Here they are (I think I did a pretty good job for my first time EVER doing them!)...

Backpack

I bought Aspen a Backpack for our trip to Utah so she could have her own carry-on. Well, we got it last Thursday and she hasn't taken it off since! Friday and Saturday mornings when I've gone it to get the girls she's been in bed still, but already wearing her backpack again! I even have to peel it off her so she can go potty! I guess it means I won't have a problem getting her to wear it at the airport. Anyways, I've decided she looks to grown up wearing a backpack and pretending to go off to school!!

Tagged (twice!)

Aspen and Ella have been tagged to share 5 things about them so here it goes

Aspen Elizabeth
08-26-05

1-She is a Disney Princess FANATIC! She can name all of them, sing parts of at least one song from each movie (even the ones she has never seen) and pair all of them with their respective princes at a moments notice!

2-She is a very loving and wonderful big sister. There have been few if any incidents between Aspen and Ella, and I hope it keeps going as Ella become more mobile and inquisitive! Aspen loves sharing a room with her and reading to her and bringing her toys.

3-She will talk to/follow/flirt with anyone to get food. From when she could walk I've had to watch her in public places because she will follow other kids around with food until they feel compelled to share. At church functions she will bat her beautiful eyes and smile at the many older members in the ward and it never goes unrewarded! But the flirting isn't contained to just church, it spreads to all cashiers at stores, the baggers at Publix who help you to the car, and even my academic advisor's at school!! She will DO ANYTHING for ANYONE for food!

4-She is deathly afraid of bugs or anything that looks like a bug. This includes dark speaks on carpet. If she thinks she sees a bug she will become frozen in terror and will cry till Mommy or Daddy come and picks her up and moves her from danger.

5-She is our budding musical genius. She plays the piano (though not any compositions I know of) with one finger at a time, sings many songs, and strums the guitar. We are hoping to being her formal Musical Training by her 4 or 5 birthday!

Ella Mae
11-06-07

1-Her favorite thing to do is roll around and find paper to put in her mouth. What is it with paper?

2-As Aspen develops her musical talents, Ella has decided to become a percussionist! She is never happy is she isn't beating on something, herself, her high chair, Aspen, Mommy....

3-She is most likely very close to crawling (even though I tell her to knock it off every day!) She is very good at getting around by rolling, but it doesn't seem to satisfy her!

4-She will smile at ANYONE who will talk to her. She loves to be around people and is a very social baby.

5-She may yet be my red head. Each day I change my mind, but from birth her hair has always had a little bit of a strawberry blond tint to it! I'm crossing my fingers I would love a little red head!

Here we are together...

Well about a week and a half ago we shuffled the sleeping situations again. We moved Ella from our room into Aspen's room. It has been so nice to have our own space back! Aspen LOVES having Ella in the room with her, and we have discovered that Aspen sleeps quite soundly--Ella has yet to wake her up no matter how much she cries! This move also motivated me to finally get some things on their walls so it looks like a little girls room. There are a few more things I'd like to do, but here it what my girls new "digs" look like!

The quilts are a gift from Grandma Culbertson, she gives one to each grandchild. It has their names stitched on it.

Now everyday, for a few hours, we play in their room. It is so much fun to see them playing with and around each other. I am constantly reminded how much my babies are growing up.

PS Just an update, Ella was 7 months yesterday and is currently weighing in at 17 lbs and 25 3/4 inches long! And Aspen is still about 29 lbs and now 36 inches tall! Can't wait to see many of you in 12 days!!!!

Sunday Morning, Ready for Church

Our two cuties in their Sunday best.

Ella's first official "hairstyle"!!

Aspen's hair was a little crazy today...the humidity is going up and so is Aspen's hair!
