Easter Sunday

Ella and her first Easter Basket

Ella's Easter Dress

Aspen and Ella. Aspen picked out both their dresses.

CHEESE!

Trying to get a cute picture of Aspen she kept turning her head away from me when I held up the camera. I finally had to resort to bribery of the sugary kind.

Dying Eggs

On Saturday Aspen had a new first...we colored easter eggs. She thought it was lots of fun to see the white eggs come out different colors. Amazingly enough we made it through the even with out any major spills or messes!

QuinceaƱeras (15th Birthday)

A friend from church asked Dane to be a member of her Court for her Quinceaneras. He agreed, not knowing what in the world she was talking about. After finding out it included dancing he was a little reluctant, but he was a good friend and went to the practices and did his best and wore a tux! I think he may have even enjoyed himself just a little bit. Here are some Pictures from the party.

The party favors. Aspen loved the glass slippers and collected two full pairs to bring home with her.

Rolling Over

As I have mentioned before, Ella has been rolling over from her back to her tummy. Well, this last week she has also been working on going from her tummy to her back and can do it most times. She has also become a "bi-roller" meaning she can roll to either side and a few times she has traveled across the room with successive rolls. What I trying to say I guess, it that my dear little baby has become mobile! Time to be obsessive about vacuuming and picking up Aspen's little toys and all the fun baby safety stuff on top of keeping the 2 1/2 yr old Aspen off of her! What a job, but she is SO CUTE and she rolls around. PS I had to buy her some new PJ's this week to because for some reason I couldn't find any of the larger (3-6, 6-9) PJ's I used for Aspen and Ella as out grown all her 0-3 months big time and even the one 3-6 month one I have is quite tight length wise. The ones I bought her were 9 mo! I had to get them because the 6 month would have fit her perfect right now with out even being washed! I am so not used to having a long baby! Well, I'll be putting up easter pictures soon. Hope you all have a peaceful and blessed holiday weekend!

Ella's First "Food"

In it goes....

Out it comes...

I'm not so sure about this stuff.

Okay I could get used to this.

yeah we're all done!

We introduced Cereal to Ella today and wondered what her reaction would be. Aspen took to food like a fish to water, she was eating a bowl full of cereal a week after we introduced it to her. Well, Ella was a little different. First she really struggled with the whole tongue thing, when she went to swallow she pushed her tongue to the front of her mouth and that pushed out most of her food. From the first bit to the last bit she was pretty unsure about the whole thing. And that night and the following night after eating cereal in the evening she was up almost ALL NIGHT being a little cranky and a little gassy, but mostly awake. Brent has been telling me to start her on food for awhile now because it helped Aspen sleep better, well yeah right! Not only was she awake but she nursed like I'd deprived her of food all day! So we have switched to a lunch time meal and last night went much better. What an adventure having children is!

Four Months already!

Newborn1 Month
2 Months
3 Months
4 Months

Ella had her 4 month check up today, can you believe it has been that long already! She is 12 lbs 10 oz and 25 inches long, putting her in the 25-30% in weight-7lb gain- and the 75% in HEIGHT-6 3/4 in growth- (who would have guess that Brent and I could have a tall kid?) Because of the difference in height and weight we are going to be starting Ella on cereal and baby food this month-by recommendation of her pediatrician. Pictures of that event will follow shortly I'm sure! We love our two little girls and it is very exciting to see them learn to play and interact with each other! We are looking forward to a time when we can travel out to Utah and see most of you, we miss you!
Aspen likes to help me pick out Ella's clothing now. She picked out this cute pink onesie and jeans for Ella and then turned around and picked out this similar pick t-shrit and jeans for herself, they were so cute all matchy I guess it's time for me to start making them matching outfits!
Pucker up!

So sweet!

More sharing

Aspen has been learning to share, first it was her ducky, now she is learning to share blankie!
Peek-a-boo!

Here they are both pretending to sleep, aren't they cute!

Momentous Occasion!

At 4 months and one day Ella has reached her next big achievement. She rolled over, she still gets her arm stuck under her sometimes, but she can get over. Way to go Ella (wait I've changed my mind, no rolling over it lead to more growing and moving, stop it, no More GROWING)

Half way there...

So close, but finger to tempting to give up...

Give me a second will ya, I'm new at this....

SUCCESS!

My Quirky Little Aspen

Aspen loves her paint with water books that Granna Smith has sent her. We have not been able to find any here and Granna has nicley kept us supplied! The funniest thing about Aspen painting is she insists on using two paint brushes most of the time, (didn't get that on film this time) But it keeps her entertained for a good 1/2 hour to 45 minutes!
At one time or another I am sure you have all received mail from Geico, but how many of you have h a to adopt the Geico Gecko into your home and family? Aspen carries around this pictured of her "lizard" and kisses him and plays with him, he is a regular friends and playmate!

Beautiful Butterfly Babies!

Ever since Aspen got her butterfly face painting she has become even more interested in butterfly things. So today (totally by accident) Aspen AND Ella are wearing their butterfly outfits. Aspen has deemed this laundry basket the butterfly cart and was willing to pose for a few pictures with her sister. Aren't my beautiful butterfly babies the cutest!

My Funny Girls

I knew the pants were a little to big, but after a few minutes wiggling on the floor I discovered I hadn't gotten the diaper on to well either!

Aspen has claimed Ella's car seat has her rocking chair when we are at home. She holds ducky and rocks her when she is "crying" or sad. It is quite funny.

Aspen's obsession with dresses has reached a new level. She will let me dress her in other clothes, but the first chance she gets (when mommy's not looking) she finds a dress or skirt and puts it on too!
A big first for us....Aspen has been okay sharing Ella's toys with her, but just the other day Aspen came up to Ella and said, "Here you hold ducky for now" and she sat and watched Ella play with ducky for about 5 minutes before nicely taking it back and saying "all done now" it was so sweet I hope it is a trend that continues!

Lee County Fair

Today was a first time experiance for me, Aspen and Ella...we went to the county fair-Brent has been to a few fairs before! Pat is a vendor there so we didn't have to pay to get in, so we spent a little money on some oh so yummy fair food (giant corn dogs, elephant ears, etc) The best part of the afternoon was free, Office Max (or depot can't remember) had free face painting, and Aspen amazed us all by sitting still for a beautiful butterfly! With more free tickets we hope to go back one more time in the next week it was a blast!
