New Picutres at last!

Here are some pictures we took just hanging out around the house today. The girls are in their "Valentines" outfits, aren't they sweet. Ella's is a 6 month size and it fits her perfectly!!

Just thought I would give you all an update on what's been going on in our family....
First, I have some new pictures I took, but the camera battery is so dead I don't even have enough juice to get them off of it and onto the computer (pay day this week I'll get new batteries!) Sorry!
Brent is continuing to study for his Series 6 test that he will hopefully be able to take in just a few weeks, he is also in and out of the Chase office every week.
I'm still trying to figure out all this Primary stuff, but as a presidency we do fill we are teaching our children and they are feeling the spirit, so I guess the important stuff is covered. I'm very VERY excited because my older sister Heather has purchased plane tickets for her and her daughter Sophia to come and visit us for a week in April....so when are the rest of you going to start saving up for your trips!!! j/k. Aspen loves to pretend to talk on the phone to Sophie and asks me when they are going to get on an airplane and come see us. We are counting down the weeks.
The kids are great, and growing faster and faster! Ella is 3 1/2 months and can almost sit up on her own, almost roll over--it looks like my peace of mind with just setting her on the floor when I've got to jump up and do something is just about over--and she loves to laugh and smile and chatter with others. Aspen could entertain herself from early on, but Ella is a very social baby and loves to have someone talk to her or sing to her or play with her. She doesn't need to be held, but interacted with, but the smiles you get make it oh so worth it! She still wearing 0-3 month clothes, but I have begun pulling out the 3-6 month and can't believe how well they fit her already, better get the rest out quick before she out grows them! She goes back into the doctor on March 11th, so I'll have a weight and height update then.
Aspen still is high energy all the time. She loves to dance and run and cook and color and just play play play all the time. She also loves to sing and is quickly learning new songs. The new ones she has learned recently are "Once there was a Snowman" and "Little Mermaid song" (where she just sings Ah ah ah ah like at the part where Ursula takes her voice) and is learning "Part of your world". We attended a baptism last Sunday where a primary child sang a song. When she was done Aspen thought it was her turn and for the rest of the service we had to keep pulling her back because she wanted to run up there and sing her solo (we let her after it was all over, what a DIVA we have got!) And as of recent her wardrobe is almost lacking it "appropriate clothing" according to Aspen because she must and WILL wear a dress everyday at some point in time!!! Even this morning I had to bribe her to wear pants because her dresses need to go in the wash. Of all people how did I get a girly-girl? I'm still not sure.
We hope you all are experiencing happiness and wellness we love and miss you all and can't wait till we get to see you next!

Daddy Dog Pile

Aspen loves to jump on you while you are laying on the ground, so I decided it was time for Ella to join in the fun.....

A Day of Fishing

We have been enjoying wonderful weather down here in SW Florida! Today with no school we decided to go fishing. We found this little place that lets you park and fish for a daily charge, there are some big fish but mostly we just caught some smaller ones, but it is still fun! We gave Aspen a stick with some leader and weights on the end for her fishing pole. We also invited Brian and Kennedy along, Kennedy got her first fish on her own little pole (with the help of Uncle Brent) and was very excited about it. They all caught a good number of these little fish called Mangrove Snappers, none of them big enough to keep (or worry about cleaning and preparing!) We had a great time for a little bit of money, I loves those days!

Common Sense

My parents told me about Mr. Common Sense early in my life and told me I would do well to call on him when making decisions. It seems he was always around in my early years but less and less as time passed by.

Today I read his obituary. Please join me in a moment of silence in remembrance. For Common Sense has served us all so well for so many generations.

Obituary

Common
Sense

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth
records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, why life isn't always fair, and how, on
occasion, maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for
kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer aspirin, sun lotion or a sticky plaster to a student; but could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when yo u couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar can sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge
settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by three stepbrothers; I Know my Righ ts, Someone Else is to Blame, and I'm a Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

How True is This?!?

Ducks and Frog....

As much as Aspen loves ducks, it looks like it may be frogs for Ella. She already has THREE frog toys and she loves all of them. Having two girls you'd think we would be surrounded by kittens and dolls and flowery things (we do have plenty of those too) but when it comes to comfort toys it is ducks and frogs. Who would have guessed.....

In comparison....

Ella 1st Week .............................Aspen 1st Week

Ella 2 1/2 months....................Asepn 2 1/2 months

Our Girls in January

Aspen has recently lost the ability to smile nautraly when asked too, this is what you get....what a funny girl!
Aspen and Ella are still getting along great. As Ella becomes more interactive Aspen has become more excited about playing with her. She likes to sing Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam and Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree with her and hold her hands and pretend to dance with her. I look forward to each new way they learn to play together!
Ella really likes to hang out in her bouncy seat and play with her toys, she can really get them going these days, the noiser the better.
Ella's first ouchy (self inflicted)

Ella's favorite way to take a nap is wrapped up tightly in her blankie from Great Grandma Smith.Any box quickly becomes a bath tub to Aspen. I guess it's a good sign that she likes to be clean.
Aspen got ahold of my camera one day and when I found it this plus a few other pictures is what I found. I had no idea she could even get the thing open to turn it on let alone take pictures!Recently I got a new computer and with it a keyboard, so I gave Aspen the old one that wasn't working well anyways. From day one she has called the keyboard her computer and she has to check her email. She will be playing and out of the blue she will jump up and "I gotta check my emails" I guess Brent and I must say that a little to often :) Yesterday Brent worked from home for a little while and Aspen got out her "computer" and checked her email and had her little phone and made work calls right along side Daddy it was too cute!

Can you believe how grown up my little girl is! She will be two and a half the end of this month and I can't believe how time has flown by. Sorry I've been so long in putting up new pictures I'll try and get back in the habit of at least twice a week putting up a post! Love you all!
